Accredited conformity assessment for materials and products in drinking-water contact — DAkkS-verified, recognised across Germany and Europe.
The DAkkS-accredited certification activity of SAFE+ Certification GmbH in the drinking water field covers the assessment basis for plastics and other organic materials (KTW-BWGL). This includes coatings, lubricants, elastomers and thermoplastic elastomers in contact with drinking water.
German rules on materials in drinking-water contact have been revised. The 2nd amendment of the Drinking Water Ordinance (TrinkwV, Dec 2012) mandated the German Environment Agency (UBA) to publish binding assessment bases.
Following the revision of the TrinkwV on 20 June 2023, the UBA mandate to set and maintain these assessment bases remains in place. Per § 15 (2) TrinkwV, assessment bases become binding two years after publication.
